My sister’s keeper
1)My response is from a story “my sisters keeper ‘ by jodi picoult
This story is about a family of four when there daughter suddenly becomes seriously ill at the age of two .the doctors suggest to the parents that they should have another child one that is a perfect match so their daughter will have a chance at living. This family of four becomes a family of 5 they have another daughter who is an exact match for there oldest daughter.for many years there younger daughter becomes a donor giving her older sister blood cells ,bone marrow and many other things.the youngest daughter then gets a lawyer because her sister is having a kidney failure and she doesn’t want to give up her kidney or go
2)This story showed to me alot and what a family goes through when a family member/members becomes sick and what the family goes through and how it affects not only the person who is sick but the whole family . for this family the parents end up falling out of love or “feeling like strangers” because the mother solely focus on just the daughter not anyone else which pushes there marriage apart this showed me what it could be like if this happened to my family and how it affects everyone’s well being .the story also gave me an imagine of what it was like for each family member and how each it effects them
how i can relate to the story is when i became ill and had to go to hospital but mine was only for a short amount of time not my whole life .being sick for a short amount of time was horrible just sleeping nonstop and only getting up to use the bathroom having no energy and being tired all the time and having medicine pumped into my hand was hard knowing she went through this her whole life and getting harder treaments would of been so hard trying to fight everyday i can also relate by knowing heaps of people close to me becoming sick .
